A man has been sentenced to life in prison after carrying out a planned attack on a probation officer by stabbing her multiple times and brandishing a fake gun at a receptionist. The incident occurred at the Preston Probation office in Lancashire, where the assailant, Ryan Gee, 35, armed himself with a large knife and imitation firearm, injuring the probation officer in the chest and stomach.

Following the attack, Gee threatened a staff member with the weapons, causing panic and fear among those present. The violent episode unfolded during an appointment at the probation office, where Gee displayed aggressive behavior not seen in previous meetings with staff members.

The probation officer sustained multiple stab wounds during the assault but managed to escape with the help of colleagues while Gee held a receptionist hostage with the fake gun. Law enforcement intervened promptly, successfully detaining Gee and ensuring the safety of the victims.

After pleading guilty to various charges, including attempted murder and possession of weapons, Gee received a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years and 193 days before being eligible for parole. The court heard about the severe impact of the attack on the probation officer, who continues to struggle with psychological trauma from the incident.

Authorities commended the swift response of officers and emphasized the need for justice and support for the victims in the aftermath of the vicious attack. The Crown Prosecution Service highlighted the premeditated nature of Gee’s actions and expressed hope that the sentencing would provide closure for those affected by the traumatic event.
