A mother of two tragically passed away after falling from a high stool in a hotel bar where she had been drinking with friends. Kadie Hunt, 38, fell off a bar stool at the Welbeck Manor boutique golf hotel in Sparkwell, Devon, following an afternoon of drinking. Despite the fall, Kadie initially declined help, appearing unharmed and brushing off the incident.
The incident occurred when a member of staff briefly turned away and heard a crash, finding Kadie on the floor after falling off the stool and hitting her head. Although Kadie seemed fine and refused assistance, the next morning she was discovered unresponsive at home, with injuries to her face. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Plymouth, she succumbed to a traumatic brain injury.
An inquest revealed that Kadie, who had been coping with grief, had consumed a significant amount of alcohol before the accident. CCTV footage showed her stumbling and hitting her head on a fireplace surround. The coroner determined that her death was due to a traumatic brain bleed from the fall.
The coroner also stated that Kadie drank heavily and was extremely intoxicated at the time of the incident, contributing to her accidental death. Kadie’s mother, Shirley, praised her daughter’s selfless act of donating her organs, emphasizing her kind and loving nature.
Following Kadie’s tragic passing, a spokesperson from Welbeck Manor expressed deep sadness over her death, highlighting her positive impact on the team.
