Virgin Media TV has introduced two new free channels, Stingray Classica (Ch296) and Stingray DJAZZ (Ch297), just in time for the holiday TV marathon. These channels, known as FAST channels, offer a variety of musical content such as world premieres, concerts, films, and artist interviews, broadcasting around the clock for viewers’ enjoyment.
Stingray Classica (Ch296) is focused on classical music, opera, and ballet, catering to both enthusiasts and newcomers with 50 world premieres annually from renowned venues. The channel also showcases high-quality documentaries, exclusive classical music programs, and weekly premieres.
On the other hand, Stingray DJAZZ (Ch297) features jazz concerts, films, portraits, and documentaries from different venues and festivals. It also offers artist profiles, interviews, and behind-the-scenes reports to jazz enthusiasts.
These new music channels supplement Virgin’s existing 32 FAST channels, like British Screen Classics and Inside Crime, available on Virgin’s set-top boxes through the Electronic Programme Guide. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new additions, emphasizing the diverse entertainment offerings to cater to all music fans.
