LG TV owners will enjoy an exciting update just in time for the holiday season. LG, the renowned Korean tech giant, has unveiled a significant enhancement to its popular LG Channels platform, offering a host of new features and additional free content, including shows from Sky.
This latest update, which has started rolling out, enables users with specific LG screens to access Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without requiring a subscription. Additionally, LG has recently included the Sky News channel to broaden its free channel lineup.
The update brings even more content variety, such as LG1 Christmas for festive entertainment, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf fans. These new channels are part of LG Channels’ FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) services, meaning viewers will see advertisements during programs.
Apart from the new channels, the upgrade introduces overall enhancements, including personalized content suggestions and a revamped user interface aimed at simplifying and speeding up the process of finding something to watch.
A new feature called “Quick Access” allows viewers to press the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program to instantly access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and trending content.
Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Centre at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, emphasized that LG Channels aims to offer users easy access to high-quality and engaging content. The latest upgrade, from a new logo to enhanced personalization features, is set to make everyday viewing more intuitive and enjoyable for millions of users worldwide.
