A father revealed that his daughter, a talented artist named Isobella Knight, was fatally strangled by her husband after she expressed her intention to end their marriage. The husband, Paul Knight, 36, admitted to the killing while their two children were asleep in their home in Burton Latimer, Northants, on June 13 the previous year.
The father, Tim Davies, 58, disclosed that Isobella, also known as Izzy, had endured years of controlling and abusive behavior from her husband. He stated that she had confided in close friends about her desire to separate and had reached an agreement with her husband for the well-being of their children. The family only learned of the extent of her suffering after her tragic death.
Following the incident, Paul Knight made failed suicide attempts and eventually crashed his car near a McDonald’s parking lot. Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of Isobella’s body at their home. It was determined through a post-mortem examination that she died from neck pressure inflicted during a violent attack by her husband.
Isobella’s children, aged six and three, are now under the care of her mother, Helena, and her partner David. Concerns have arisen about the husband’s potential influence on decisions regarding the children, prompting discussions about the implementation of legislation, known as Jade’s Law, which aims to revoke parental responsibility from a convicted parent who kills their partner.
Reflecting on Isobella’s life, her family emphasized her role as a devoted mother who nurtured her children’s talents. They expressed their determination to preserve her memory and provide a loving environment for her daughters. Isobella’s mother highlighted her daughter’s multifaceted personality, describing her as a loving mother, cherished daughter, loyal friend, talented artist, and hardworking provider.
Detective Chief Inspector Torie Harrison commended the husband’s admission of guilt but acknowledged the irreparable loss suffered by Isobella’s daughters. Expressing sympathy for the family, she emphasized the tragic consequences of domestic violence and the lasting impact on those left behind.
