The Canadian-produced hockey series, “Heated Rivalry,” has added three new cast members for its upcoming second season. The show, streamed on Bell Media’s Crave platform, gained international fame in its first season, leading to the rise of its main actors—Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie, and François Arnaud.
The fresh faces joining the cast include Milla Jovovich, known for her roles in “Resident Evil” and “The Fifth Element,” Kevin Zegers from Woodstock, Ont., recognized for his work in “Gossip Girl” and “Transamerica,” and Paul Gross, a prominent figure in Canadian film and television.
Based on the “Game Changers” book series by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid, “Heated Rivalry” delves into the clandestine relationship between two ice hockey rivals, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Gross will portray hockey league commissioner Roger Crowell, Zegers as Coach Wiebe, and Jovovich as Dr. Galina Molchalina.
The second season will also feature a range of Canadian talents including Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Emily Hampshire, and Priyanka. Hampshire, in an interview, expressed her excitement for being a part of the show, comparing the series’ success to that of “Schitt’s Creek.”
While “Heated Rivalry” won big at the Canadian Screen Awards, it is not eligible for the upcoming Primetime Emmys. The filming of the second season has commenced and is scheduled for a Spring 2027 release on Crave.
