A new television judge, Adam Levy, has emerged on the scene with his own daytime courtroom series, “Adam’s Law,” presented by CBS Media Ventures. Levy, aged 58 and the son of the renowned Judge Judy, showcases a similar no-nonsense approach and sharp wit in the trailer released on Thursday.
Judge Judy, also known as Judith Sheindlin, initially hesitated to pass on the gavel to her son, admitting in the trailer that she would not have encouraged him to take on the show years ago when she was not ready to give up her role. Nevertheless, she acknowledges Levy’s talent, albeit with a hint of reluctance at the idea of being surpassed.
Scheduled to debut on September 14 and executive produced by Sheindlin, “Adam’s Law” follows the success of the original “Judge Judy” show, which concluded after 25 seasons. With over 25 years of legal experience, including serving as a district attorney, Levy emphasizes the importance of honesty for litigants on his show.
Judge Judy expresses confidence in her son’s ability to continue the family legacy, predicting that “Adam’s Law” will become a top daytime program. The show will air on various CBS-owned stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as on Citytv and Citytv+ in Canada starting September 14. Levy’s previous experience as a presiding judge on other courtroom reality TV shows adds to the anticipation surrounding “Adam’s Law.”
