A woman wielding a weapon in a bustling Bangkok street was subdued by onlookers who cornered her inside a taxi, recent accounts have disclosed. Troubling video footage captured the woman brandishing a knife at pedestrians in the Nana district of Bangkok, Thailand, on January 16, according to mothership.
An eyewitness, who shared the incident on Instagram, recounted hearing screams while strolling down Sukhumvit Soi 3. The witness, identified as @niccorocks, observed a woman armed with a knife attempting to assault individuals.
In the video, the woman was seen walking down the street with the knife in her right hand. Shortly after, she seemingly attacked a man who tried to intervene, prompting him to kick in her direction, as per Daily Star.
As she moved along the street, bystanders evaded her until she targeted a woman at random. The situation seemed to de-escalate only when she boarded a taxi.
By working together, onlookers prevented the taxi from departing and alerted the driver. Subsequently, footage revealed people surrounding the vehicle, confronting the woman as she grew increasingly agitated and hostile, resisting efforts to relinquish the weapon.
Eventually, a local police officer entered the taxi from the opposite side and successfully apprehended her. According to the witness, another Grab driver leaped into the taxi and, with the help of others, disarmed the woman of the knife. Additionally, the woman was accused of stabbing a boy.
She was apprehended on-site, as confirmed by Mothership.
